This documentary is going to be based on animal relationships with their owner and what its like to loose a pet. First off I will start the documentary with and introduction to animal pets and then interview an owner of a cat. I will start with shots of pets walking around a house, with a voiceover explaining the research on when and how 'pets' increased over time. After the introduction I will use a voice over where Laura will explain her story/ experience about building a relationship with her cat and loosing her other pets in the past. While she explains the story there will be shots of her cat and her previous cats (if possible to use some old stock footage), there will also be some long and wide shots of Laura with her pets to let the audience get a clear view of what it is like living with a pet.
After that I will have an owner of a cat, Laura explain to the viewers what it is like to own a pet. I will use mid shots and close ups of my character in the interview this is Laura's image looks happy and friendly like most pet owners, I will add in some cutaways of the characters pet. I will ask questions like how long have you owned a pet? What does it feel like loosing a pet?
I will make sure to get to know my character before the interview so she doesn't get nervous when the camera is on her. And go through the questions with her to make sure she can plan what to say instead of being put on the spot. After my interview I will go into a vox pox where I ask members of the public what they think about pets and if they have any of their own. To conclude my documentary I will go back to our main character, Laura with a picture of her old animal that passed away looking sad but then her new pet comes along and sits on her lap, Lauras emotion will change to slightly happier. This is to show the sadness and that animals may be able to understand emotions.
