INT. PUB
The pub is heaving with people, mostly men. There is a loud atmosphere of people talking and laughing.
ANNE walks into the pub where everyone turns silent looks round and stares at her.
ANNE
What ya’ll looking at?
Everyone quickly turns back around, awkwardly continuing their conversations
ANNE heads to the bar
ANNE
The usual please.
BARTENDER
Of course, won’t be a minute Ms.
ANNE looks around the pub to find GEORGE in the corner, staring directly at her.
ANNE walks over to GEORGE and stares at one of his friend CHARLES. CHARLES immediately stands up and lets ANNE sit down.
GEORGE
What are you doing here, Anne?
ANNE
What are you doing here, George?
GEORGE stays silent, everyone in the pub is now looking at them
The BARTENDER comes over and hands over a beer to ANNE, ANNE takes 6 big gulps of the beer. GEORGE stares at her.
CHARLES
You seem a bit thirsty love?
ANNE stares at CHARLES blankly.
GEORGE
We need to talk, privately.
EXT. OUTSIDE THE PUB DOORS, SNOW IS FALLING HEAVILY AND ITS REALLY DARK
ANNE gets out a cigarette and lights it.
GEORGE
Please I can explain…
ANNE
Explain what?! The fact that everyone knows you’re in bed with Eleanor or the fact that you’re supposed to be getting married to me in two weeks!?
GEORGE
It wasn’t how it looked, she was just…
ANNE
Honestly, I am done, I can’t believe I ever trusted you or your idiotic friends.
ANNE walks back into the pub and sits by the bar.
EARL
Looks like you’re having a tough night Ms? Let me get you a drink.
ANNE looks to her left, a young handsome man with deep blue eyes stares at her.
ANNE
Tough is another word to put it. I’ll have your strongest whisky please.
EARL
Two of them please.
After a good couple of drink rounds, the pub introduces live band to play. The band is playing upbeat happy music. Crowds start running to the dance floor.
ANNE
Want to dance?
EARL
Who, me…? I can’t…
ANNE
Yes, you can, here I’ll teach you
ANNE grabs EARLS hand and drags him onto the dancefloor, elbowing people to get into the middle. ANNE starts to dance EARL awkwardly tries to dance, everyone looks and laughs.
